Memo-writing and keeping a “methodological journal”  (Charmaz 2014 p. 165), will help keep the participants’ voice clear in the process of becoming more analytical and starting an inductive journey out of the mass of data collected so far. Freewriting is the preferred way of achieving this, since the researcher already has some experience in this technique.

Mind maps and diagramming will be used to gain a bird's-eye view on the relationships between the data in the memos and the journal, in order to select the categories that seem to develop into major concepts in the analysis process. These will then enter the next stage of theory construction, allowing the researcher to conceptualise the topic and bring it forth into a congruent and original theoretical interpretation. An interpretive approach is preferred, to the alternative positivist type, as the author rather believes in the fluid, emergent character of life that grants space for an imaginative Weltanschauung.
